Stockholm County Museum

The Stockholm County Museum is the youngest county museum in Sweden. The museum covers the geographical area of the County of Stockholm with the exception of the City of Stockholm, i e 26 districts with more than one million inhabitants. Our ambition is to be of service to the county´s inhabitants and especially in those districts without a museum. To distribute information about the museum´s activities on Internet is an important step in making the county´s cultural history more easily accessible.

The County of Stockholm is Sweden´s richest region in prehistoric finds and has also a large number of objects with an interesting architectural and cultural history. In various locations around the county "cultural paths" have been marked out. There you can walk, cycle, drive or even go by boat to get from site to site. Information about these "cultural paths" is included on our web pages as well as information about especially noteworthy objects/places, exhibitions held at the museum together with outings and trips arranged by us.

Most of the the information on the web is written in Swedish, being principally directed towards the people living in the region, but if there is anything you would like to have further information about please do not hesitate to contact us, and we will do everything we can to help you.
